Arab Weather - Adviser to the Prime Minister for Health Affairs and the Corona file, Dr. Adel Al-Balbisi, confirmed that the sub-mutant from Omicron (BA.2), from which two injuries were recorded in Jordan today, Monday, is not a new or different mutant.
Al-Belbisi explained to Al-Wakeel News that (BA.2) and (BA.1) are two types of Omicron mutant, and they do not differ in terms of effect, symptoms and speed of spread.
He pointed out that the two types are spread in more than 60 countries around the world, but in Jordan today, two cases of type (BA.2) were recorded.
Al-Belbisi noted that there is no cause for concern of this kind, stressing that it is not a mutated or a new disease.
The Biolab Medical Laboratory announced the monitoring of the first two confirmed cases in Jordan and the Arab world of the sub-mutant of Omicron (BA.2), which is known as the "hidden mutant", which is called that due to the inability of traditional PCR tests to distinguish between it and the "delta" mutant.
