Arab Weather - The latest weather forecasts at the Arab Weather Center indicate that all regions of the Levant, including the Kingdom, will be affected during the end of this week by the remnants of the very cold polar air mass, accompanied by very cold weather with chances of some precipitation.
On Friday morning, the weather will be very cold with a chance of freezing, especially in areas that have witnessed snowfall. During the rest of the day on Friday, the Kingdom will continue to be affected by very cold polar winds and temperatures will be about 2-4 degrees Celsius colder than usual for this time of year. The weather will be very cold over the highlands, with maximum temperatures not exceeding 4-6 degrees Celsius in most of the highlands and below that in the peaks of the Sharah Mountains, while the weather will remain cold in the rest of the regions.
The weather will remain mostly cloudy with a chance of rain showers in different parts of the Kingdom in the form of frozen rain over the high mountain peaks, and low clouds will pass over and touch the ground, leading to the formation of dense fog over the high mountain peaks, and the chance remains available for some snowfall over the high southern mountain peaks.
The winds are westerly, moderate to active in speed, accompanied by strong gusts at times, which significantly increase the feeling of coldness and stir up dust and dirt in the southeastern and eastern regions of the Kingdom.
During the hours of Friday/Saturday night, the weather will be very cold in general, and the minimum temperature will reach zero degrees Celsius in the desert areas, the eastern plains, and the high mountains, with rain falling in some areas, and the chances of scattered rain remain in some areas, and the precipitation will be in the form of light snow showers in the peaks of the southern highlands, and the winds will be northwesterly and light in speed.
Saturday: Cold weather in all regions with scattered clouds, and a possibility of rain showers, especially in the south of the Kingdom, in the form of light snow on the peaks of the high mountains.
During the day on Saturday 8/2/2025, temperatures tend to rise slightly, remaining about two degrees Celsius below average, and the weather will be cold in many areas with scattered clouds. In the south of the Kingdom, the weather will be mostly cloudy with the possibility of scattered rain, and precipitation will be in the form of light snow showers on the high mountain peaks for a short period concentrated in the morning, and the winds will be northwesterly and moderate in speed.
The specialized weather maps show that the night cold will reach its peak during the hours of Saturday/Sunday night as a result of the Kingdom being affected by very cold winds, but without any weather activity, as night temperatures will drop to be close to zero degrees Celsius in several parts of the Kingdom during the late night hours, and in the Shara Mountains, the Badia regions, and parts of the eastern plains, temperatures may drop below zero degrees Celsius.
With the decrease in cloud cover and the decrease in wind speed, the weather conditions are suitable for the formation of frost in many large areas of the Kingdom, including the main cities, while the formation of frost in places where water pools are located is not excluded.
God willing, frost is expected to start early in the night hours, i.e. Saturday/Sunday night, and will intensify and expand with time and continue until the late hours of Sunday morning, especially in the desert above the high mountainous heights and the eastern plains areas. Fog is also likely to form late at night in the Zizia area, Queen Alia International Airport and some areas of the desert.
God knows best.
