The renewable energy sector provides 400 million barrels of oil annually

<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"><span style="line-height: 1.6em;">ArabiaWeather.com- A report issued by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) confirmed that developing the renewable energy sector in the Arab Gulf region will lead to saving about 400 million barrels of oil consumed for energy generation annually. It also works to provide 11 trillion liters of water and more than 200,000 direct job opportunities.</span></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="line-height: 1.6em;">Investing in renewable energy sources will preserve the water resources of the Arab Gulf states, meet their rapidly growing energy needs in a sustainable manner, and reduce carbon emissions, according to Adnan Amin, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency.</span></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="line-height: 1.6em;">Work on diversifying renewable energy sources will reduce energy and water consumption by 50% in the United Arab Emirates, 23% in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and 21% in the State of Kuwait. It will also reduce the per capita carbon footprint in the region by 8%.</span></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="line-height: 1.6em;">The report indicated that the use of renewable energy will result in a 16% reduction in water consumption in the energy sector. This is because renewable sources, especially solar photovoltaic systems, may be less water-intensive than fossil-fuel technologies, according to the Turkish Anadolu Agency.</span></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="line-height: 1.6em;">The water desalination sector in the Arab Gulf countries occupies a large share of the total energy consumed in most countries of the region, so the exploitation of solar energy in water desalination is considered one of the reliable, economic and environmentally sustainable solutions to meet the high demand for water in the long term.</span></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="line-height: 1.6em;">The renewable energy sector will provide more job opportunities compared to the traditional energy sector, according to the energy units that are produced and the capitals that are invested.</span></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p>
