The Toy Museum in Istanbul...a place your children will love

The museum (istanbul oyuncak müzesi in Turkish) was established by the Turkish writer, writer and poet Sunay Akin in 2005 in the Kotepe district of Kadikoy, and today it has become a special place that displays a diverse collection that attracts children and adults alike.

The design of the museum building itself looks like one of the doll houses that girls always played in when they were young. It is a beautiful wooden palace with its elegant design and white color. It welcomes you at its entrance with two large dolls that differ every time. Sometimes you find two giraffes, or two guards in Ottoman costumes or other characters. From cartoon drawings, in addition to the dolls scattered in the garden.

The exhibition includes more than 10,000 games from all over the world dating back to different eras. Some games date back more than a century and even 200 years. It has been collected from Turkey, Germany, France, America and others.

The oldest game on display in the museum was made in 1817 in France, and some American games date back to 1860. As for the porcelain games coming from Germany, they are more than a century old as well.

There are special sections according to the categories to which the games belong. The space games section is adorned with stars at the top, which makes the place close to the toys on display, while the museum basement includes scary games.

Also, before leaving the museum, you can pick up some toys as souvenirs from the shop inside the museum, or enjoy a cup of tea in the nice café attached.

The museum is open every day of the week except for Mondays, and the cost of entering it is 10 liras. The museum has a lively atmosphere, so do not miss it for your children and enjoy with them as much as possible.
