ArabiaWeather.com – Indian police posted on their Facebook page a video clip showing a motorcycle catching fire after its owner's mobile phone exploded while he was filling fuel at a gas station in the Indian city of Hyderabad.
Surveillance camera images at the gas station showed the man as he was about to fill his bike's fuel tank, and after several seconds he put his mobile phone on his bike, when it exploded and the front of the bike caught fire.
Thanks to the quick wit of the station worker, the fire did not spread to the fuel pump, although the fire affected it slightly, which could have caused a major disaster.
The biker rushed to remove his burning bike from the fuel pump and prevent the flames from reaching it. The fire subsided after a few seconds, and no one was harmed in the place, despite the panic that prevailed among those present at the gas station when the fire occurred.
Hyderabad City Police posted a video of the incident on its Facebook page and commented on it advising not to use a mobile phone at a petrol station. It appears that the mobile phone caught fire when it started ringing after its owner placed it on the bike's fuel tank, according to the British Daily Mail.
