Arab Weather - With the approach of the 53rd UAE National Day celebrations, workers in the UAE are interested in knowing the date of the Union Day holiday. The UAE Human Resources Department has officially announced the date of the holiday for workers in government bodies, departments and institutions in Dubai.

53rd Union Day Holiday Date

The United Arab Emirates is celebrating the anniversary of the union of the seven emirates, and as part of this occasion, the Human Resources Department in the Emirates has set the Union Day holiday to be on December 2 and 3, which correspond to Monday and Tuesday. Work in government institutions will resume on Wednesday, December 4.

Categories excluded from the 53rd Union Day holiday

The Human Resources Department has exempted employees who work shifts or whose jobs require providing direct services to the public or managing public facilities from leave. In these cases, employers are left to determine the date of leave to ensure proper workflow.

The people of the UAE, both citizens and residents, are looking forward to celebrating the Union Day as the most important historical event in the country. The government has decided to grant an official holiday on this occasion on Monday and Tuesday, December 2 and 3, with work resuming on Wednesday, December 4.

History of the Union of the Seven Emirates

The United Arab Emirates was founded by the founding fathers, the rulers of the seven emirates, when the rulers of the other emirates responded to the call of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum for union. The union was declared on December 2, 1971, after Sheikh Zayed assumed the rule of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and looked forward to unity with the Trucial States, especially after the British announced their intention to withdraw from the region.
