Arab Weather - Jordan was affected in the last week of the holy month of Ramadan by a cold wave called "Al-Jalmoud", as temperatures dropped significantly and were lower than their usual rates for this time of year. This wave caused a very cold air mass of polar origin to enter, and the wave was accompanied by a drop in temperatures to below zero at night.
The lowest minimum temperature in the Kingdom was recorded in Shobak (-8.2°) below zero at dawn on Tuesday, February 25.
The lowest temperature in the northern highlands was at the Ras Munif Meteorological Station, reaching (-4.5°) at dawn on Monday and Tuesday, February 24 and 25.
The lowest temperature recorded at Amman Civil Airport in the Marka area east of the capital was (-1.5°) below zero at dawn on February 26.
The lowest temperature recorded at Mafraq station was (-4.2°) below zero at dawn on February 25.
The lowest temperature recorded at Irbid Northern District Station was (-1.8°) below zero at dawn on February 25.
The lowest temperature recorded at Al Hussein International Airport in the Gulf of Aqaba (+5.2°) at dawn on February 25.
