Arabia Weather - During the past few days, some areas in Bangladesh were exposed to a severe heat wave, with maximum temperatures reaching levels exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, and exceeding the 42 degrees Celsius barrier in some areas, according to a report issued by the country’s Meteorological Department on Sunday.
The bulletin issued by the department stated that an intense heat wave is greatly affecting areas such as Pabna, Jashore, Chuadanga and Dhaka, in addition to some areas of Khulna and Rajshahi district.
Local media reports in Bangladesh reported that two people died as a result of heat stroke in the Chuadanga and Pabna areas last Saturday, as the weather was sunny and very hot due to the continued heat wave during the previous days.
Yesterday, the authorities in Bangladesh announced the closure of schools and colleges for a period of 7 days, starting from Sunday, due to the continued impact of the heat wave on the country.
