Arab Weather - The Daily Mail reported that the air conditioning system malfunctioned on a Boeing 737 plane, leading to passengers being detained on a flight heading from Turkey to Germany at temperatures exceeding 52 degrees Celsius. According to the British newspaper, the incident occurred on June 6, The Mavi Gok plane was heading from Antalya (Turkey) to Münster (Germany).
The air conditioning unit failed before takeoff, and the plane remained on the hot runway for about an hour, causing extremely high temperatures.
Dominik Janssen, from Leer in Saxony, who was in Antalya on holiday with his family, said:
“When we got on, we immediately felt the temperature increase in the plane.” His wife, Nancy, reported that she helped a five-month-old child by fanning him to try to relieve his fever.
According to passengers, there was little help from the crew, as preparations for the flight continued, the plane headed towards the runway, and a Turkish-speaking doctor addressed the crew, warning that “taking off the plane in these conditions may be dangerous for children.”
The pilot of Flight 4M413 eventually returned to the airport, but the situation did not improve there either.
“The airline did not provide any assistance at all. Water was not even distributed,” Dominic said.
“The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is our top priority,” the airline said in a statement.
