The site also gives the visitor a glimpse into Amman’s development throughout history. The Umayyad Palace, the Temple of Hercules, and the Byzantine Church are among the most important stops to visit in Jabal al-Qalaa.
It is a restored Roman theater dating back to the second century AD, built on three hillsides. The amphitheater can accommodate about 6,000 people, and is still used for artistic performances to this day.
Umm Qais, known in ancient times as "Jadara", and the site of the famous miracle of the Jadara pigs. It was famous in ancient times as a center of culture, as it was home to a number of classical poets and philosophers such as Theodorus, and another poet even called it “Antioquia.” It is located on a magnificent hill overlooking the Jordan Valley and Lake Tiberias, and is famous for its amazing colonnaded streets, an arched balcony and the ruins of two theatres. The World Tourism Organization chose the village of Umm Qais in 2022 to be included among the best tourist villages in the world, after fulfilling the conditions and requirements required by the organization.
