Arabiaweather.com - Ismail Qasimi - Sutjeska or as it is written in Bosnian Sutjeska is a reserve and national park located 100 km from the capital Sarajevo, near the city of Foca in the Serbian part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina .

The reserve is located on the Bosnian border with the Republic of Montenegro, and represents the oldest national parks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an area of about 17,000 hectares. Among the natural places that are an attractive destination is the Skakavac waterfall, which is one of the highest waterfalls in the country, with a height of 75 meters.

There is also in the reserve the highest peak rising 2386 meters between the Maglichen Mountains, in addition to Lake Tarnova, and within its lands there is also another protected forest, which is the Peruchitsa forest, which is one of the oldest forests in Europe.

The region is characterized by glacial mountain lakes, which number up to 9 lakes, including Lake Oyoun al-Jabal, Black Lake, White Lake, and others. The Drina River, which passes within the reserve, is the largest of its rivers and is located on its northern border, in addition to the Suticeka River, which crosses the center of the park.

More than half of the reserve area is dense forests, while the remaining part is lakes, pastures, steppes and barren lands. The reserve is also rich in rare plant species, and there are more than 600 plant species. As for various birds and animals, there are 114 species of birds.

Visitors can practice many activities such as camping, climbing mountains, walking, cycling, rock climbing, swimming among rivers, or even just exploring. They can also stay in a number of hotels and houses within the reserve.
