In response to a question about how more than one sun appears on the horizon, Al-Musnad explained that what appears as more than one sun is actually an optical phenomenon and not reality. He said: "It is an optical illusion created by the atmosphere, where the viewer appears to have two or three suns, while in reality there is only one sun, and the rest are its reflections."

Al-Musnad added that this phenomenon, known as the Mock Sun, Sun Dog, or Phantom Sun , is scientifically known as “Parhelion.” It is an optical atmospheric phenomenon that appears when the sun is close to the horizon, as it may form a halo around the real sun, and at both ends of this halo the imaginary sun can be seen.

Formation of the Three Suns

When three suns appear, they are at the same level above the horizon, that is, at equal height. The imaginary sun may appear red near the real sun, and sometimes arcs and halos of strange colors form. Al-Musnad doubted that the image from China may be the product of artificial intelligence.
