Arab Weather - Riyadh will host the third edition of the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit, which will be held from September 10 to 12 , under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Chairman of the Saudi Council of Ministers. The summit aims to discuss a range of pivotal topics such as innovation and industry in the field of artificial intelligence, and the importance of shaping a better future for this technology, while developing a stimulating environment for human energies.
The summit focuses on several main topics, including: artificial intelligence at the local and global levels, the relationship between human and artificial intelligence, the role of business leaders in this field, the relationship between data and applications, generative artificial intelligence, the ethics of artificial intelligence, in addition to processors, infrastructure and smart cities.
Expected sessions include discussions on sovereign AI and global innovation, innovations in AI hardware, digital divides, and evaluating AI initiatives. Sessions also include a discussion on the question: “Is AI my next companion?” and discussions on smaller language models.
The summit aims to harness the potential of AI to enhance economic growth and societal progress, with a focus on developing talent and providing opportunities for those interested in the field. More than 300 speakers from 100 countries around the world will participate to discuss the best ways to benefit from AI technologies.
Eng. Abdullah Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of the Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), invited AI specialists and policy makers to participate in the summit to present ideas and visions that contribute to setting general frameworks for the effective use of these technologies. He also called on those interested and innovators to attend and contribute to finding solutions to technical challenges.

Saudi Arabia is making remarkable efforts to develop artificial intelligence technologies and harness digitization to serve humanity. The Kingdom aims to become a global leader in this field by 2030, after being ranked among the first countries to develop a national strategy for artificial intelligence according to the Stanford University International Artificial Intelligence Index 2024.
SDAIA focuses on implementing a set of policies to achieve strategic objectives, including updating the national data and artificial intelligence agenda and implementing it at the national level, which enhances Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading country in the data and information-based economy.
