WHO ends state of emergency over `monkeypox`

Weather of Arabia - The World Health Organization ended the state of public health emergency related to the monkeypox virus, days after ending the state of emergency regarding Covid 19.

The organization said in a statement on Thursday on its website that, based on the recommendation of the Emergency Committee, despite the continued lack of effective preventive measures in African countries - where smallpox spreads regularly - the challenges can be better addressed through the long-term strategy.

Accordingly, the organization announced the end of the state of emergency that it had previously declared last July.
