Arabia Weather - The Solar Halo is known as a large ring of light that appears as a result of the presence of high clouds that contain millions of small ice crystals. The halos we see are formed when light refracts through, reflects from, or shines through these crystals. In order for the halos to appear clearly, the surfaces of the crystals must be oriented in a position that allows light to be reflected back toward the observer on the ground.
