Weather of Arabia - Meteorologist Dr. Khaled Al-Zaaq revealed the many uses of the tamarisk tree among the ancient Arabs.

Al-Zaaq said during his speech: “Preserve our natural plants, the most famous of which is the tamarisk, which the Arabs knew by the greenness of its leaves at the beginning of the hot season, and by its intense redness, and at the end of the heat the tamarisk flower became withered.”

He added: "Bees feed on tamarisk flowers in the hot season, and use the honey produced from them to treat internal and intestinal problems. Our ancestors used tamarisk leaves to expel toxins and heal wounds."

He concluded his speech by saying: “The Arabs used the roots of tamarisk to make ships, and its branches to make roofs for houses, due to its tolerance of high temperatures.”
